Location: Havant
Salary Scale: GBP13.80 to GBP15 per hour

GSL Education are working in partnership with specialist schools across Havant to recruit Behaviour Support Assistants who are passionate about helping young people thrive in a nurturing, structured environment. You will work with children on a 1:1 or small group basis, assessing their progress and discussing development with Teachers, Parents and Carers.

Behaviour Support Assistant Havant September 2025 Start
Responsibilities of a Behaviour Support Assistant:
Provide 1:1 support for pupils with challenging behaviour, Autism, SEMH and mental health needsHelp promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and a safe learning spaceWork closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to provide consistent, tailored support Working with children in the classroom settingManaging challenging behaviourWorking with students one–to–one and small groups Requirements for Behaviour Support Assistant:
Has experience working with young people, this could be as a Sports Coach, Dance Leader, Scout Leader or something similar (preferred, not essential).Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs (preferred, not essential).Experience working with SEN (in school, care, or voluntary settings) preferred, not essentialCan engage children in and out of the classroom Feels confident managing challenging behaviour Knowledge of and experience with behaviour management strategies.Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies. To work with GSL Education as a Behaviour Support Assistant, you should:
Have the right to work in the UK. Have an up–to–date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
