Salary: GBP95 – GBP115 per day

TeacherActive is working in partnership with a highly regarded secondary school in Bath to recruit a Behavioural Support Assistant for their on–site resource base. This role involves providing targeted 1:1 behavioural support to students who need help with emotional regulation, social interaction, and maintaining engagement in learning.

This is a long–term position with strong potential for extension or permanent placement for the right candidate. The school has a dedicated team and a structured approach to supporting students who benefit from consistent behavioural guidance. You ll be working primarily with Key Stage 3 and 4 students, helping them develop the confidence and skills to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting students to manage challenging behaviour and develop positive coping strategies

Helping students access the curriculum through tailored behavioural support

Promoting independence, emotional well–being, and resilience

Working closely with teaching and pastoral teams to implement support plans effectively

The ideal Behavioural Support Assistant will have:

Experience working with children or young people with behavioural or emotional needs

A good understanding of SEND, particularly SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) or Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to behaviour support

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
