In my opinion this is the Holy Grail of Sportsters.

Sportster engines used to be bolted directly to the frame, which meant blurred mirrors and numb hands, fed by a single carb.

Then they rubber mounted the engine to the frame and stated with the carb for two years.

After that they went for the added complication of fuel injection with a fuel pump in the tank and the requirement to buy an expensive software module if you wanted to change exhausts.

This bike has the smooth operating rubber mounted engine and the simplicity of a single carb.

It is currently fitted with Screaming Eagle Exhausts and filter but I also have an original pair of silencers, complete with catalytic converters if Van der Lyin clamps down on fun.

When I got them they were still being sold by Harley Davidson for £800 each, I managed to get a perfect set for less.

The bike is shown with a Harley Davidson Sundowner Touring Seat but comes with the original dual seat and a Harley single leather seat, which really suits the bike.

Michelin Cruiser tyres which have at the most a few hundred miles on them.

New brake pads front and back recently.

Dart mini screen which reduces wind buffet slightly and protects the speedo.

I replaced the oil filler cap/dipstick with a Harley Oil Temperature gauge.

I have the Service Manual and Owners Handbook, which is surprisingly useful.

The bike is kept in a heated garage and plugged into a C-Tek battery tender, which you can have also.

Don't forget that this has the Evolution engine fitted, the only Harley engine that didn't have issues; change the oil regularly, don't needlessly tune the arse off it and it'll last forever.

The bike looks so much better in the flesh than the photos; very subtle but gets very positive comments wherever it goes.

A stunning looking bike in the flesh that sounds amazing.
