£1,300
Description
Charvel Model 4 – 1987 – Rainbow Crackle – Shark Fin Inlays- Made in Japan
Up for sale is my stunning 1987 Charvel Model 4 in the ultra-rare Rainbow Crackle finish, built at the legendary Chushin Gakki factory in Japan. This iconic late-’80s superstrat combines killer tone, incredible playability, and unmistakable 80's-metal looks.
Overall the guitar is in fantastic condition for it's age, I can only find one tiny mark, shown in the pics. Hardware & frets are great, with just a little rust on various screws, etc, but all original.
Definitely one for Collectors & fans!
These Japanese-built Charvels are revered for their build quality — neck-through construction, active electronics, and top-tier hardware made them some of the best shred guitars of the era.
Essentially we have a closet queen that is excellent condition with very minimal play time/wear.
The "Model 4" was at the top of the bolt-neck line models, with the same hardware and active electronics as the Model 6.
Its thin, quartersawn rock maple neck has a satin finish and a wide, flat fingerboard. The body is basswood – medium weight, but solid. The single-coils are Jackson J200s; the humbucker a J50BC with “accentuated high frequency.” Like most good active pickup systems, it has a clean, wide frequency response with no noise. The toggles are on/off for each pickup, and controls are one Volume, one Tone, and a pre-amp midrange boost/cut.
This guitar is a total beast. The MIJ Charvel's from this period are fantastic and highly collectable

I am not a guitar Dealer or a business, just an honest collector who has way too many guitars!
Trades or PX always a possibility and most of my guitars are up on various platforms, so if you want it, bid early, otherwise it may sell elsewhere before the auction ends!
Collection always welcome. I am easy to get to from the main route down from London to Brighton
