The classic Les Paul Special updated with Mini Humbuckers. These were only available directly from Gibson and at the Gibson Garage locations.

The Les Paul Ltd Edition Special with Mini Humbuckers is equipped with a pair of Gibson’s acclaimed mini humbucker pickups. Sized the same as a P-90 and slightly smaller than regular humbuckers, they fit into the same sized pickup cavity as a P-90 and deliver low-noise humbucking pickup performance and a slightly brighter and more open tone than what is normally associated with standard Patent Applied For style humbucker pickups, resulting in a tone that combines some of the brightness that P-90s are known for and some of the warmth of humbuckers, all while remaining hum-free.

The Les Paul Special with Mini Humbuckers is outfitted with all of the other features that you would expect to find on a Les Paul Special, including a slab mahogany body, a mahogany neck with a satisfyingly hand-filling, 50s Vintage profile, (although this is not 'baseball bat' territory) and a bound rosewood fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and acrylic dot inlays. The individual volume and tone controls for each pickup are hand-wired with Orange Drop® capacitors. The wraparound bridge delivers excellent sustain, and the tuning machines are classic Vintage Deluxe models with white buttons. Along with a low-friction Graph Tech nut, it all comes together to deliver solid tuning stability and great tones that are a little different than a regular Special but still remain squarely within the classic Les Paul tonal family.

This was a 'demo' version for Gibson trade fairs so has 'Demo' stamped on the back of the headstock. This does not mean it is a second or has been damaged in any way, it is only because it was selected to be shown at one of Gibson's Guitar Trade Shows.

A Gibson hardshell case is also included to keep this unique Special safe when you’re on your way to your next gig! Trades of equal value welcome, usual names but no strats thanks. Interested in Gibson SG Special with P90s, Fender AVRI Telecaster etc. must have its original case.
