Fender MIJ Jazzmaster 1984-1987 (Mastery Bridge/Seymour Duncan Antiquities.)

Description

Up for a sale is an authentic Fender Jazzmaster from the much coveted Fujigen, Made in Japan era. Serial number is EJ728527, placing the manufacturing of this model to 1984-1987.

This is a players instrument and has thus acquired the marks commensurate with an instrument of this age. Any marking or checking is tasteful, and not at all unsightly in appearance. At some point during the course of it’s life, a previous owner decided to remove the lacquer from the back of the neck, achieving a smoother, satin feel to the palm of the hand. In terms of the neck itself, it is one of the slimmest I have played - surprisingly so. The rosewood board has a nice, dark tint to it and the frets have plenty of life left in them still. Overall, this Jazzmaster is a delight to play and perfectly embodies the vintage playing experience at a fraction of the cost.

All electronics are functioning as they should; no crackles, pops or hums to speak of. Rhythm and lead circuit working accordingly. The plastics have yellowed with age, something very common with Fender instruments of this era.

Notable upgrades: a Mastery bridge has been installed, and the original pickups have been substituted for Seymour Duncan Antiquities. A combined upgrade of £500+ in value. Original pickups and bridge included. Please note: there is no trem arm supplied.

The guitar has recently been serviced, restrung, fretboard oiled and frets cleaned. Supplied with a non-original gig bag.
