Description

Eastman Orchestra Model OM Adirondack Top/Madagascar Rosewood, Limited Edition Dealer Selected

Sell as described (and all details on the photos).

CASH or BANK TRANSFER ONLY

Highlights:

1. The guitar features limited edition all solid Madagascar Rosewood;

2. This particular set of straight-grain Madagascar Rosewood is hand selected by the maker.

* Madagascar rosewood grows very slowly, therefore, it is difficult to find logs thick enough to cut in a quarter-sawn manner;

* Quarter-sawn results in straight-grain wood boards that evenly distribute tension, therefore, providing better long-term structural strength, e.g. preventing cracks;

* This is why straight-grain quarter-sawn boards are favoured by luthiers over flat-sawn boards (despite the latter producing highly figured patterns), again for better structural strength;

* This is why pre-war Martin guitars use straight-grain Brazilian rosewood back and sides (please Google it and see for yourself), which is the most highly sought after;

There are well illustrated posts on the Acoustic Guitar Forum to explain all of the above. Search for “quarter sawn - The Acoustic Guitar Forum”

Other selling points:

As New Condition/Unplayed

No Fret ware (due to the unplayed condition);

No scratches or dings anywhere on the guitar;

Tall saddle (leaves enough room for future adjustment);

Great string break angle (45% degrees);

Great neck angle.
