Beautiful Bill Tippin Jumbo Guitar

On offer now is a wonderful instrument that I was sure I would never sell. But happily, I find myself with so many amazing guitars/pipes/concertinas that this Bill Tippin Jumbo is up for sale at a very reasonable price--- in fact- A Bargain!

Bill is a highly respected guitar luthier in America- take a look at the Dream Guitars website in Weaverville, North Carolina where many of his hand-made guitars of all styles have been sold. These are sold at fairly high prices.
At present the Six String Collective in the UK has a Tippin 000-12 acoustic for sale at £4,495.
Some time ago I wrote Bill to ask if he had used Hide glue for this guitar and he replied:

"I have always used Hide for the top, back glue up, and braces the rest of it doesn’t matter.
Built in 1999. Tobacco sunburst. Nice guitar and it looks in great condition.
The JT stands For Jumbo-Tippin. The JT is similar to the Bravado,but in the Bravado I changed the Bracing configuration to what I am currently using, Which was in 2005. The earlier bracing was more traditional with what Martin was using. It is not a copy of a Martin, I change the size and depth some, along with reconfiguring the Bracing Top, and Back to soot me, but still had an X brace with 2 tone bars.

I have had may people say that it was a definite cut above any Martin they had played of that size.
The woods are MG Indian Rosewood, with a MG Sitka spruce Top and Sitka Bracing through out.

This is his Jumbo with a unique Tobacco Burst and will come in the original hard case. It has an L.R. Baggs Anthem pickup fitted and I will include the original tuning pegs (Schaller-Made in Germany) as I replaced these nickel-silver closed pegs with the brass and open-backed machines I prefer.
An abalone rosette has been added to the sound hole but the decals on the head stock and bridge can easily be removed. The guitar was made in 1999 and I replaced the large clear plastic pickguard with a classic red, bevelled one from the artists at Atkin Guitars. You must look closely in the right light to see where this large, clear pick guard was placed.
The armrest (See Photo 9) is New Guinea ebony with a special abalone inlay from a luthier in Australia. It adds style, comfort, and clarity to the overall sound which is a joy of tone, resonance, and intonation.
I have photos showing how the guitar looks with this armrest on or off.
The back and sides have not a mark on them, but in complete honesty I have placed a small leafy decal over the smallest of marks (See Photo 15) and there is an almost invisible mark below this at the very bottom of the sound board (See Photo 16)
Sad to this beautiful guitar go, but I am hoping it finds someone who will enjoy it for many happy years and songs.
