1992 Fender Stratocaster American Standard

Description

This is a very clean example of the Fender Stratocaster American Standard (introduced in 1987, discontinued in 2000). Made in 1992 (the neck is stamped “Jul 10 1992”), this is all original, except of course for the strings, which are brand new D’Addario XL Nickel Wound 10-46’s (full specification is below). It comes with its original hardcase (I think these are pretty cool, but if you’d prefer a different style, ask; I may be able to supply an alternative).

Played lightly over the years, the instrument shows the usual signs of use; a little buckle rash to the rear, light bumps and scratches, and of course the usual wear to the to the clear coat at the fret-ends and along the edge of the fingerboard (to be found of any used maple fingerboard from Fender!). But with that wear comes the beginnings of some light patination; the original white pickguard, controls nobs and pickup covers are mellowing to a more vintage looking off-white; the neck and fingerboard are smoothing to feel fast in the hand.

Latterly my daughter’s guitar, it was serviced for her about 6 months ago, being stripped, cleaned, reassembled and set up (including fret-levelling). The result is a very clean, gently aging guitar, looking great, and playing beautifully.

It’s been used very little of late, having been usurped by a hollow-body… I’m left handed, so sadly, can’t adopt it! I’ve tried to capture the true condition of the guitar in the images, but that’s somewhat challenging with a curved, gloss surface! Nonetheless, the images give you a good idea of the condition.

The guitar is in Cheshire, from where collection is welcome. I do travel widely, so delivery in person may be an option. Alternatively we can discuss courier option.
