Steve is a respected PVG registered classical guitar teacher with over 25 years' experience and has recently returned to Galashiels after re-locating from Midlothian. He combines modern classical techniques with a relaxed yet progressive approach, tailored to individual preferences/abilities and currently offers individual on-line tuition for pupils aged 9+.

Adopting a classical approach (as opposed to generic acoustic tuition using a steel strung instrument and reading TAB) enables pupils to understand proper musical notation and learn elements of musical theory which will assist them significantly should they choose to play other instruments. Classically trained guitar students also find it easier to learn chords and explore other musical styles.

With a 100% ABRSM exam pass rate, he has enabled pupils to attain Grade 8 distinction results. A free advisory session is also provided and references are available. Lesson fees are as follows:-

One hour sessions for adults - £30
(Previously £35)
40 minute sessions (ages 9+) - £20
(Previously £25)
