Description

Human‑centred, evidence‑based leadership
My work is built on the belief that leadership is a lived practice, not a job title. I treat people as whole humans with histories, emotions, and agency and I design every programme and coaching interaction to honour that. Evidence matters, but only when it’s translated into something people can actually use.

Psychological safety as a foundation
I create spaces where people feel able to think aloud, experiment, and be imperfect. Safety isn’t a soft extra, it’s the condition that allows challenge, growth, and honest reflection. My tone is warm, invitational, and zero‑pressure, which helps people step into learning rather than brace against it.

Metaphor, movement, and meaning
My signature style blends physical movement, story, humour, and metaphor to help people understand themselves and their leadership more deeply. Whether it’s a long run, a reflective exercise, or a coaching conversation, I use embodied experience to unlock insight.

Community over competition
My programmes are designed to build shared accountability and belonging. I treat community as a performance enhancer, not a distraction. People grow faster when they feel part of something.

Sustainable, place‑rooted practice
My Bristol base isn’t just geography; it’s part of my ethos. I draw on the local landscape, culture, and community to shape my work. Sustainability shows up in my leadership philosophy too: long‑term thinking, regenerative habits, and development that lasts.

1. Collaborative design
I don’t impose frameworks; we co‑create them.

2. Evidence translated into practice
I take research, behavioural science, and coaching theory and turn them into:
- simple workflows
- practical tools
- reflective prompts
- movement‑based exercises
- psychologically safe group processes

My work is rigorous without being rigid.

3. Story‑driven teaching
I use humour, narrative, and lived experience to make learning memorable. . Participants in my programmes feel seen, not lectured.

4. Agency‑building
I design everything to help people take ownership — of their learning, their leadership, their running, their choices. I avoid extractive or salesy tactics; instead, I invite people into growth.

5. Clear, accessible structure
My materials are concise, practical, and easy to use. I avoid jargon, over‑complexity, and inaccessible formats. Clarity is part of my care for participants.

I had an initial consultation with Martin where I explained my goals and what I was hoping to achieve. He took the time to ask detailed questions, clearly explained the process and associated costs, and followed up with helpful information by email, which I found extremely useful. Throughout the time I worked with Martin, he was consistently supportive, knowledgeable, and professional. We met in person on several occasions, where he demonstrated drills and exercises that formed part of my personalised training plan. Whenever I needed a refresher on a particular drill or technique, Martin was always happy to send videos and additional guidance to ensure I stayed on track. Communication was excellent throughout. Any questions or concerns I had were answered promptly, and I always felt well supported. In addition to the training programme, Martin also provided practical nutrition advice in the lead-up to my event, which was greatly appreciated. I also found the training app he uses very easy to navigate. It helped me stay accountable to the plan and track my progress, rather than drifting away from the structured programme. Having now successfully completed my event, I am taking a break from long-distance running. However, if I decide to take on another challenge in the future, I would not hesitate to work with Martin again. I have already recommended him to others and would happily continue to do so.

Martin has worked with me to build a schedule that fits around my busy lifestyle; working on increasing consistency and fitness. He has been really supportive, with regular check ins and confidence boosters, and knowing that there is someone who wants me to succeed has really helped with my accountability and motivation. I would recommend Martin to anyone who wants help to achieve their running goals with a friendly and flexible approach.
