Original Antique Timber Fire Surround with Integrated Overmantel Mirror

Description

A handsome and elegant fire surround, dating from circa 1900–1920. It could be a bit later as one of the pictures shows writing on the back of one of the small panels next to the mirror. It reads, 1922, April 1st, Oxford wins boat race.
I think the wood is mahogany with a nice warm patina.
The upper overmantel section features a gently arched central mirror flanked by two balanced panels. Each side panel is detailed with elegant geometric boxwood inlay stringing, showcasing the high-quality craftsmanship of the era. The wide, sturdy top mantel shelf provides ample space for display. Below, the clean lines of the pilaster legs lead down to classic plinth blocks, framing a perfectly proportioned square opening ideal for a cast iron insert or tiled grate.
Please Note: This listing is strictly for the antique wooden surround and integrated mirror overmantel only. The electric fire in the pictures is not included in the sale.

The wooden surround is in good original structural condition with a lovely rich tone. There is age related wear, some nicks and marks to the edges/surfaces here and there.
The surface of the original mirror glass while being scratch-free, has, true to its age, some authentic silvering degradation and some foxing on the reverse backing from decades of gentle exposure to the heat from the fireplace. The mirror has some slight movement in its casing. I wasn't able to show the condition of the mirror in an image.
