Description

Training & Competence (T&C) Coach
Location: London (Hybrid / Office Visits as Required)

Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience

Qualification Requirement: Minimum Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning

Are you passionate about coaching and developing financial advisers?

Radcliffe & Newlands Wealth are looking for a Training & Competence (T&C) Coach who enjoys helping others develop their skills, build confidence and achieve their potential.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working within an IFA Training & Competence framework who wants to focus on the people development and coaching side of the role, rather than traditional compliance supervision.

About Us

Radcliffe & Newlands Wealth are an established, high-quality Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) firm based in the City of London. Their advisory team comprises 16 highly experienced financial planners.

To support future growth, they have established an academy for new advisers. Their current cohort includes five members at different stages of development, from experienced paraplanners progressing towards becoming competent financial advisers.

Their academy members are already technically strong, so the focus is on developing their confidence, communication skills and ability to build successful client relationships.

The Opportunity

Radcliffe & Newlands Wealth are looking for a supportive and approachable T&C Coach to help develop their growing team of financial advisers.

Working alongside their SMF16 and SMF17 Directors and collaborating with the Head of Technical Research, you will play an important role in coaching and developing both new and experienced advisers.

Your main focus will be on helping academy members make the transition from technically skilled paraplanners to confident, client-facing advisers.

You will also support experienced advisers with their ongoing development and competence.

While the role involves monitoring adviser performance and competence, it is not a heavily administrative or compliance-focused position. Routine file checks are handled by the Head of Paraplanning, while the Directors manage SMCR and annual Fit & Proper reviews.

This allows you to concentrate on what matters most – coaching, mentoring and helping advisers perform at their best.

What We're Looking For

The Basics: You must hold a minimum CII Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent) and have experience working within a UK IFA Training & Competence framework.

A Coaching Mindset: You enjoy supporting others, providing constructive feedback and helping individuals build their confidence and skills.

Strong Communication Skills: You can build positive relationships with advisers at different stages of their careers, adapting your approach to suit their experience and development needs.

People Development: You understand how to help technically capable paraplanners develop the softer skills needed to become successful client-facing advisers, including communication, presentation and relationship building.

A Supportive Approach: You are approachable, encouraging and confident working with experienced advisers, offering guidance and feedback in a collaborative rather than overly formal manner.

You don't necessarily need to be an experienced T&C Manager or have held a senior supervisory position. What matters most is your understanding of the T&C framework, your ability to coach others and your enthusiasm for developing people.

How to Apply

If you have experience within an IFA Training & Competence environment and enjoy helping financial advisers develop their skills and confidence, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today with your CV to find out more about this opportunity with Radcliffe & Newlands Wealth.
