For sale is my trusty Rancilio Silvia, a true classic of the home espresso world. I bought her second-hand around 14 years ago and have used her every single day since – exclusively for espresso, never for steaming milk, so the steam wand and boiler have had an easy life.
I’m selling because my grinder has finally given up and I’ve decided not to replace it – no point keeping the machine without one.

The machine is approximately 25 years old and, as you’d expect from a daily workhorse of that age, she shows her years.

The main issue is significant rust underneath the drip tray – the chassis (drip tray base/frame) would likely need replacing. Everything else works as it should: she heats up properly, pulls a good shot, and has never let me down.
The shower screen and group head gasket were both replaced just six months ago, so the group head is in good shape. I have regularly backflushed the machine throughout my ownership. Beyond that, I have not had the boiler serviced and cannot comment on its internal condition – please bear this in mind.
