Description

We are seeking an experienced Toolroom Engineer to join a large international manufacturer of electrical components. This is a hands-on role supporting the business with the production, repair, maintenance, and development of tooling, as well as the manufacture of small-batch precision components for NPI, sampling, and testing.

You will play a key role in ensuring tooling meets exacting quality and tolerance requirements while contributing to continuous improvement and innovation across tooling and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacture new tooling and refurbish existing tooling for moulding and product assembly Develop innovative tooling solutions to support efficient manufacture Machine tooling and NPI piece parts to precise tolerances Produce small quantities of piece parts (typically up to 5-off) for NPI, samples, and testing Work closely with design, manufacturing, and process engineers to advise on tooling design and process improvements Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements and company policies Undertake other reasonable duties as required to support the Toolroom and wider business About You

Essential Skills & Experience

City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering Completed a time-served apprenticeship in a toolmaking environment Minimum of 5 years experience as a Toolroom Engineer, Toolroom Technician, or Toolmaker Proven experience in mould tool and assembly tool manufacture Ability to machine to exacting tolerances using milling, turning, grinding, and related methods Strong understanding of tool manufacture and precision engineering CAD/CAM knowledge Experience with CNC mills and lathes
