An established and highly successful civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its Southern Region team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of major infrastructure projects, involving the construction of critical new infrastructure.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Overview

Manage the commercial aspects of civil engineering and infrastructure projects from inception through to completionSupport, mentor and develop junior commercial team membersMaximise profitability across contracts and ensure commercial objectives are achievedMonitor contract costs against budgets and provide accurate forecastingIdentify commercial risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategiesPrepare detailed cost estimates and commercial reportsProcure subcontractors, including the preparation and negotiation of subcontract documentationAssess and certify interim and final subcontractor paymentsPrepare, negotiate and agree main contract variationsAssist with the preparation of documentation relating to dispute resolution, including adjudications and arbitrationsEnsure all commercial activities comply with quality, safety and environmental standards and company proceduresWork closely with operational teams to ensure successful project delivery

Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Requirements

Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environmentStrong background working on civil engineering and infrastructure projects, particularly highways schemesDemonstrable experience administering and managing NEC forms of contractExcellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledgeStrong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skillsAmbitious and proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamInnovative problem-solving skills and confidence working across multiple levels within a construction environmentStrong numerical, analytical and IT skillsAbility to mentor and support junior team membersFull UK driving licenceWillingness to travel across the Southern Region as requiredBennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.
