Senior Mechanical Engineer

Rugby

Up to 60,000

T2M are currently working alongside an innovative engineering business who focus on the development and reengineering of industrial machinery for a variety of sectors, to help them to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for leading on the design, analysis and reconfiguration of a variety of rotating machinery projects including work on motors, generators and turbines.

Key Duties as a Senior Mechanical Engineer

To lead Mechanical design and engineering of new machinery (both the stator, rotor components and complete machines), upgrades and retrofits. Root cause analysis of failed machinery. Complete stress analysis including FEA. To produce test methodologies and instructions for the dynamic testing of large machines and subsequent analysis of results. To produce repair instructions for failed equipment. Undertake diagnostic activity on machinery prior to failure, including on site analysis of machine condition and compilation of life assessment reports. Assist with the tendering and project management teams to win new projects and provide technical oversight through to completion.

Skills and experience required to be a successful Senior Mechanical Engineer

An understanding of rotating machines such as motors, generators, turbines, pumps or comparable equipment desirable. Experience leading or mentoring teams and developing junior engineers. Experience working within an engineering design environment essential. Familiarity of a variety of manufacturing techniques. Ability to work as part of a team or independently when required.

This role will be based from the companies headquarters in Rugby with a salary of up to 60,000 available for the role depending on experience.
