Description

Westlakes are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a dynamic team based in Cumbria.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key role in delivering complex engineering projects within a regulated environment. We are considering candidates on both a permanent and contract basis.

Role Responsibilities

Lead and direct a multi-disciplinary engineering team to:

Identify the feasibility of the approachDevelop an outline requirement specificationIdentify the TRL levels and associated development plans to deliver a viable solutionPrepare a plan for the delivery of the appraise and select phase of the project. Deliver to the agreed time, cost and qualityLead the multidiscipline teams, responsible for estimating, scheduling, forecasting and the production of the agreed design deliverablesManage the JV teams in production of deliverablesDevelop the safety case(s), including attendance at HAZOPs, support to safety assessment, review of ES, and production of substantiation documentationIdentify additional resource demand where required to ensure all deliverables can be originated and checked in accordance with the project scheduleInterface with other Project Discipline leads within the project(s)Interface and engage with Site clients and stakeholdersEssential Experience

Background in engineering, demonstrating a record of successful delivery including recent leadership roles guiding technical personnelSignificant experience in an engineering design environment with strong technical knowledgeRecent experience working within a regulated and quality-assured system (preferably nuclear), where professional engineering judgment is keyKnowledge and understanding of governing laws, regulations, and standards for the nuclear industry (equivalent experience in other industries will be considered):

- Health & Safety at Work Act

- The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015

- Safety of Machinery, CDM, LOLER, Pressure Systems, DSEAR, Ionising RadiationIdentification of Technological Readiness Levels and development of technology development plansFor more information on this role or to register your interest for future job updates, please visit (url removed)
