Hays Civil Engineering is working with a leading UK infrastructure contractor to recruit an experienced Section Engineer to support the delivery of major water and wastewater projects across the Southern Water framework.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing programme of work delivering critical infrastructure improvements throughout the South of England. With projects located across the Southern Water region, candidates can be based from a variety of locations and will support the delivery of schemes including water treatment works, wastewater treatment facilities, pipeline installations and associated civil engineering infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Setting out and surveying works in accordance with project specificationsManaging engineering activities across allocated sections of workProducing and reviewing RAMS, ITPs and quality documentationCoordinating subcontractors and site teams to ensure safe, efficient deliveryEnsuring works are delivered in line with programme, quality and HSEQ requirementsMaintaining accurate site records and as-built informationSupporting commercial teams with site measurements and progress reportingLiaising with clients, designers and project stakeholdersRequirements

Previous experience as a Section Engineer, Site Engineer or Senior Engineer within civil engineering infrastructureStrong background delivering water, utilities, highways, rail or heavy civil engineering projectsExperience working for a principal or Tier 1 contractorProficiency with setting out equipment and engineering softwareGood understanding of quality assurance and technical documentationHNC, HND or Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or related disciplineCSCS Card as a minimumDesirable Experience

Water treatment or wastewater treatment projectsPipeline, reinforced concrete or MEICA-related infrastructure schemesNEC contract experienceSouthern Water, AMP or regulated utility environment experience
