Produce clear and accurate service reports, including equipment details, findings and recommended works.

Provide the information needed for colleagues to prepare customer quotations and proposals.

Offer technical advice and support to customers and colleagues, both on site and by telephone.

Respond to emergency and out-of-hours call-outs as required.

Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicle condition and stock levels.

Essential skills and experience

Relevant experience servicing and repairing sewage treatment plants and sewage pumping systems.

A sound understanding of wastewater treatment processes and correct desludging practices.

Strong practical mechanical and electrical knowledge, particularly pumps, motors and control systems.

Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

The ability to assess technical problems and recommend practical solutions.

Clear written and verbal communication skills, including accurate service reporting.

Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel and CRM systems.

The ability to work independently, manage priorities and make sound decisions under pressure.

A customer-focused approach and the ability to build positive working relationships.

Commercial awareness, making effective use of time, materials and resources.

Qualifications

Technical knowledge and ability at ONC, HNC or HND level in engineering or maintenance.

An 18th Edition electrical qualification would be an advantage.

Working requirements

The role involves extensive nationwide travel, with overnight stays and working away from home when required. Flexibility is essential, including a willingness to attend emergency and out-of-hours call-outs.

About you

You will be a dependable, enthusiastic engineer who takes pride in doing a job properly. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with a practical approach to problem solving and a commitment to excellent customer service.
