Description

A leading advanced manufacturing organisation is seeking a Project Engineer to join its engineering and facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role delivering capital projects, infrastructure improvements, and new manufacturing assets within a highly technical production environment.

This role will suit an engineer with strong project delivery experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting who enjoys managing projects from concept through to commissioning.

The Role

As Project Engineer, you will take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of engineering and infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing engineering projects from scope through to handover

Developing User Requirement Specifications (URS), project plans and Gantt charts

Leading the acquisition, installation and commissioning of new manufacturing assets

Supporting the implementation of new software and hardware systems

Delivering facility and infrastructure upgrades to improve operational efficiency

Managing project budgets, cost tracking and financial accountability

Coordinating with internal teams, suppliers and contractors

Ensuring compliance with health, safety and regulatory requirements (PTW, RAMS, CDM)

Driving project governance and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

HNC or equivalent in Engineering, Manufacturing or Project Management

Experience delivering engineering projects within manufacturing or industrial environments

Knowledge of asset acquisition, commissioning and system integration

Strong experience producing technical documentation and URS

Familiarity with PTW, RAMS and CDM safety frameworks

Experience using project planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Desirable

Engineering or Project Management degree

PRINCE2, PMP or APM certification

NEBOSH or IOSH qualification
