Description

Our client East Midlands Combined County Authority is currently seeking a Planning Assistant to join their Highways team on a permanent basis. This role involves supporting development management and the strategic planning processes, with a particular focus on highways development and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the delivery of the Spatial Development Strategy (SDS) and wider strategic planning workstreamsUndertaking research, data analysis, and evidence gathering to inform planning policy and decisionsAssisting in preparing planning documents, reports, and consultation materialsContributing to stakeholder engagement and public consultations across the regionSupporting the commissioning and coordination of external consultantsMonitoring and reviewing spatial plans, maintaining accurate records and dataWorking collaboratively within the team to support project delivery and continuous improvement

Job Requirements:

Experience in development management and strategic planningUnderstanding of planning principles and policies relevant to highwaysStrong analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret data effectivelyExcellent report writing and documentation skillsEffective communication skills for stakeholder engagementAbility to work collaboratively within a team environmentProficiency in relevant planning software and tools
