Multi-Skilled Engineer

4 on 4 off Shift Pattern 57,750 per annum

Due to continued expansion and investment, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and electrically biased Multi-Skilled Engineer to join the Engineering team.

Shift Pattern

4 on / 4 off rotating shiftsTypical working hours:12:00 - 00:0007:00 - 19:00 (occasionally)During quieter periods, shifts may move to:09:00 - 21:00

The Role:

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will support the planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance of production machinery and site equipment, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the facility.

You will work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime, improve machinery performance, and contribute to ongoing continuous improvement projects across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a range of machinery and equipmentDiagnose faults quickly using effective fault-finding techniques and implement efficient repairsMinimise downtime through proactive maintenance and continuous improvement initiativesWork collaboratively with production teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and planned downtimeMaintain equipment to optimum operational standardsAssist with the installation, commissioning, and modification of new machinery and equipmentManage and maintain critical spare parts inventory, including ordering replacement componentsEnsure all engineering activities are carried out safely and in line with health & safety regulationsAccurately record maintenance activities using CMMS systemsContinuously develop technical knowledge and stay up to date with industry best practices

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience working as a Multi-Skilled Engineer within a manufacturing, production, FMCG, or food processing environmentA recognised electrical qualification such as:City & GuildsNVQ Level 3HNC/ONC18th EditionElectrical ApprenticeshipStrong electrical skills with mechanical competencePLC fault-finding and diagnostics experienceExperience using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilitiesA proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approachStrong communication skills with the ability to engage across all levels of the businessGood English communication skills (minimum B2 level)A strong commitment to health & safety standardsThe ability to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
