Working within the mechanical team to maintain all plant machinery including both proactive planned maintenance and breakdown repair.

General Duties & Responsibilities

Safely applying specialist craft skills for the assembly, dismantling, inspection repair and testing of mechanical equipment Reading and understanding construction drawings, designs and system schematics to assess equipment, or systems performance and evaluate the cause of any malfunction. Effect necessary repairs and adjustments. Carrying out breakdown and planned maintenance tasks Receiving Instructions from the Mechanical Maintenance Manager, Reliability Engineer, Reliability Technician, or from planned lists/MTAS to undertake project and maintenance work on the shift in conjunction with fitters and other operations/engineering personnel. Supporting a reliability centred maintenance approach to identifying and undertaking maintenance tasks on major process assets Ensuring product quality by managing throughput issues in the execution of maintenance and improvement works Reporting works completed on the site CMMS systems Responding to site emergencies to recover/restore production in a timely manner Assisting in the training and development of other members of the team and apprentices Essential to the role

Essential Time Served Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering NVQ level 3 A grounding in mechanical engineering ideally gained through a formal apprenticeship Established skills in general fitting, welding, machining, construction, installation and maintenance techniques Knowledge of the use of precision measurement equipment and instrumentation An understanding of the use of hydraulics systems An understanding of codes and symbols used in drawings for mechanical and hydraulic schemes Computer literacy (ideally conversant in the use of CMMS) and basic office software LOTOTO Good working knowledge of plant and machinery with the area of responsibility to include overhead cranes Working Hours:

4 Vacancies available. Two for Mon - Fri, two for 4 on / 4 off.

Shift allowance only applicable for 4 on / 4 off shift.

4 on / 4 off (2 Days / 2 Nights - 12 hour shifts. 6am-6pm / 6pm-6am)

Mon - Fri (42 hours - 8am - 4:30pm)
