Finance Manager / Financial Controller

Full Time Office based Early finish Friday

We are looking for a qualified and commercially astute Finance Manager / Financial Controller to join an established finance team, working closely with the Managing Director.

As part of the companies growth and diversification plans, this is an exciting opportunity that offers prospects for progression. This position would suit someone who is very hands on, but looking to move into a Finance Director role longer term.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting processes and cash management. Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts and financial reports. Provide financial advice and insight to the senior management team. Manage forecasting, project and contract reporting, and expenditure. Oversee payroll and liaise with auditors and external advisers. Stock reconciliation - reconciling stock records to the general ledger and investigating discrepancies, . Ensure accurate financial records and effective financial controls. Supervise and support a small finance team, with a very hands on, collaborative approach. Support business projects from a financial and commercial perspective. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting. About You

Ideally, you will be a qualified Accountant with 3-5 years' post-qualification experience and have strong commercial and analytical skills.

You will also have:

Experience with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Office. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and organisational skills. The ability to manage multiple, changing priorities and work effectively under pressure. Experience supervising or supporting a small finance team. A proactive approach and the confidence to make positive improvements. Previous experience of working in an engineering / manufacturing environment would be advantageous. Project accounting experience would be advantageous but is not essential. We are keen to hear from someone who wants to broaden their experience and become involved in wider commercial and business projects.

Our client is ideally looking for someone on a full time basis, but this role could also be done as a part time position (4 days per week)
