Description

Our client has an opportunity for an Aircraft Technician (mechanical) to join them on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established organisation supporting the MoD, providing class leading support engineering support.

Role: Mechanical Supervisor

Location: RAF Valley, Isle of Anglesey

Hours: 36 hours weekly, Full Time

Salary: 34,703 pa + Benefits

Main Duties

Review operational performance of aircraft systems and componentsAnalyse and diagnose faults, apply technical knowledge to repair, modify, or improve proceduresEnsure team meets maintenance schedules, resolve issues, and escalate when necessaryMaintain personal and team competencies for aircraft/component workDemonstrate flexibility and proactive attitude, follow direction appropriately.Essential experience of the Mechanical Supervisor:

Proven and competent leader with a strong track record at this levelFully qualified technician with all required authorities and certifications in placeDemonstrates breadth of experience, currency, and recency, supported by a comprehensive logbook of skills, knowledge, and authorisationsSolid foundation in trade principles, complemented by practical expertise in maintenance and diagnosticsExtensive experience in applying aviation safety standards and ensuring safe operating practices. Qualifications for the Mechanical Supervisor:

Completed an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or a recognised military equivalentHolds a minimum academic qualification of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance, or an equivalent certificationStrong technical foundation with practical experience gained through structured training and hands on application. Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
