We re supporting a specialist organisation in the Heanor area who are looking to expand their technical support team with an experienced Diagnostic Support Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong diagnostic expertise who s looking to step away from hands-on workshop duties and move into a problem-solving, advisory role.

The Role

Working as part of an established technical support team, you ll use your diagnostic knowledge to help trade customers across the UK identify and resolve complex automotive issues.

This is a phone-based role where you ll investigate faults, interpret data, and offer clear, confident guidance to mechanics and workshop teams.

To be considered for the role, you ll require the following essentials:

You ll be an experienced automotive professional with a strong background in diagnostics.

We re looking for:

Excellent knowledge of vehicle electronics and modern diagnosticsConfident communication skills and the ability to guide others through technical proceduresStrong analytical thinking and the ability to problem-solve under time pressureSomeone comfortable working in a team-oriented, phone-based environmentA proactive approach and a genuine passion for helping others resolve complex faults Within this position, you ll also be:

Providing remote technical assistance to garages and vehicle techniciansUsing diagnostic data, fault codes, and structured questioning to pinpoint issuesIdentifying the root cause of electrical and electronic system faultsWorking alongside internal engineering and workshop teams to reach accurate solutionsRecording all findings and case details to maintain clear technical documentationDelivering professional, customer-focused support at all times Salary and Hours
