Trident Recruitment is working with a leading precision engineering manufacturer in Portsmouth to recruit an experienced CNC Miller / CAM Programmer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business manufacturing high-precision injection mould tooling using the latest 3 and 5-axis machining technology.

The Role

You will be responsible for the CAM programming, setting and operating of GFMS Mikron 3 & 5 Axis CNC milling machines, producing complex, high-precision components to exceptional quality standards.

Working as part of a close-knit team, you'll also be expected to support other areas of the business when required while demonstrating the confidence to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

CAM programming using Openmind Hypermill Setting and operating GFMS Mikron 3 & 5 Axis CNC milling machines Producing precision injection mould tooling Optimising and editing CNC programs Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and CAD models Applying best practices for work holding and machining strategies Ensuring all components meet tight tolerances and quality requirements Working collaboratively with engineering and production teams Maintaining excellent housekeeping and safe working practices Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

Proven Openmind Hypermill CAM programming experience Good working knowledge of Heidenhain controls Strong experience with 3 Axis CNC milling (5 Axis experience is highly desirable) Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines Knowledge of work holding best practices Good understanding of metallic materials and machining behaviour Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD data Excellent attention to detail Strong communication and teamwork skills A flexible, hands-on approach to work Experience machining injection mould tooling would be a distinct advantage What's on Offer
