Overview

Our client, a well-established manufacturing business, is looking to appoint an experienced CAD Draughtsman with strong SolidWorks expertise to support their design and production teams.

This is a hands-on role focused on producing accurate 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings for fabrication and assembly. The successful candidate will play a key role in translating concepts into production-ready designs.

Key Responsibilities

Create detailed 3D models and 2D technical drawings using SolidWorks. Produce manufacturing drawings including assemblies, components, and fabrication details. Generate BOMs (Bills of Materials) and support production documentation. Work closely with design engineers, production teams, and project managers. Modify and update existing drawings in line with design changes. Ensure all drawings meet manufacturing standards, tolerances, and quality requirements. Support prototyping and product development activities. Maintain accurate drawing records and version control. Requirements

Proven experience as a CAD Draughtsman / CAD Technician within a manufacturing environment. Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (essential). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, sheet metal, assembly). Ability to produce detailed, production-ready drawings. Experience creating BOMs and working with engineering documentation. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally. Desirable

Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or similar.
