Cable Design and Costing Engineer

Connect Appointments is recruiting a Cable Design and Costing Engineer to join an established manufacturer in Dundee.

This is a role with genuine influence, you'll take customer requirements and turn them into manufacturable, cost-effective solutions, working directly with customers on technical proposals and closely with production to make sure every design stacks up both technically and commercially.

Designing wire and cable products to meet customer specs and industry standardsProducing construction drawings, material specs and manufacturing instructionsCosting designs across materials, labour and production to keep pricing competitivePreparing technical proposals and quotes directly for customersWorking with production to make sure designs can actually be builtRunning feasibility studies and suggesting changes to improve performance or cut costTo be considered as a Cable Design and Costing Engineer, you will need:

A degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Materials Engineering, or equivalent experienceProven cable design experience in manufacturing - conductors, insulation, shielding and jacketingStrong costing and estimating skillsCAD experience (TurboCAD preferred), plus Excel and VisioWorking knowledge of standards such as UL, CSA and IECThe ability to explain technical detail clearly to non-technical peopleInterested in this Cable Design and Costing Engineer role?
