Area Sales Manager

Description

CDM Recruitment is recruiting an Area Sales Manager for a leading supplier serving electrical, engineering, generator OEM, wind, oil & gas and industrial customers. The role combines account management with proactive new business development across an established territory.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and develop an established customer base across the territory.

Open new accounts and identify opportunities to grow sales.

Build long-term relationships with customers across technical and industrial markets.

Work closely with the Regional Manager to agree target customers and sales activity.

Ensure service levels are maintained by working closely with the internal sales team.

Handle customer enquiries and opportunities while following the company's sales process.

Plan customer visits and territory activity to maximise sales opportunities.

What We're Looking For

Strong field sales, account management or business development experience.

Excellent sales, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Strong time-management and territory-planning ability.

Commercially driven, professional and comfortable working under pressure.

Cable/electrical experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

Full driving licence and willingness to spend four days per week on the road.

Candidates should ideally live within a practical commute of the London branch.

Package & Benefits

Four days on the road and one day in the office.

Fully expensed electric company car.

Due to local traffic and the office-based nature of the role, candidates should ideally live within approximately a 30-minute commute.

22 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service to a maximum of 25 days.

Annual pay review.

Company pension: 5% employee contribution and 3% employer contribution.

Non-contractual scrap bonus after 12 months' service.

Non-contractual Christmas bonus after 12 months' service, starting at one week's wage and increasing with length of service.

Summer and winter social events.

Option of weekly or monthly pay.
