Production Test Technician - Electronics | Colchester | 25 days holiday + bank holidays

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Production Test Technician to join a forward-thinking electronics team. In this role, you'll enjoy a hands-on mix of electronic testing, fault finding down to component level, and process improvement projects, perfect if you're looking for challenge, autonomy, and career progression.

In this role, you will ensure the quality and reliability of electronic products throughout the production process. You'll work with both hardware and software test systems, execute test plans, and produce detailed reports on any faults discovered. You'll also play a key part in improving test processes, collaborating with your team, and developing a deep understanding of electronic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Work to implemented electronic test plans and procedures

Use test systems including hardware and software components

Conduct fault finding down to component level and perform accurate repairs

Work on ATE test programs for new products

Improve reliability and accuracy of test results through continuous process improvement

Produce detailed reports of faults to aid product development

Learn and apply new test methods, fixtures, and cables

Skills & Experience Required:

HNC, BTEC Level 3, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Electronics

Some experience in electronic testing, ideally in manufacturing or R&D

Knowledge of test methodologies, tools, and equipment

Ability to test and repair down to component level

Awareness of industry standards such as ISO 9001 and IPC

Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organisation

Understanding of high voltage, RF, and microwave testing is desirable (full training provided)

Strong teamwork, communication, xjnqpsq and interpersonal skills
