Field Service Engineer – Automated Storage Systems

South Region (Field-Based)

Full-time | Permanent

Company Vehicle + Tools + Training + Excellent Benefits

Looking for a hands-on engineering role with variety, travel, and real technical depth?

Join a fast-growing team delivering cutting-edge automation solutions across the south of the UK. If you enjoy working with 3-phase electrical systems, frequency inverters, and solving real-world technical challenges, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be the face of an industry-leading company known for delivering high-end automated storage systems to major clients across logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, defence, and beyond.

Your focus will be on maintaining and repairing advanced vertical lift modules and automated carousels, many of which rely heavily on 3-phase power and frequency inverter technology. You’ll work independently across your region, with occasional UK-wide travel and overnight stays.

What You’ll Be Doing

Servicing and maintaining automated storage systems at client sites

Troubleshooting and repairing 3-phase motors, inverters, and electromechanical assemblies

Performing safety inspections, fault diagnostics, and routine maintenance

Supporting software upgrades and system commissioning

Responding to breakdowns and supporting clients on-site

Managing your own travel, schedule, and technical documentation

Delivering exceptional customer service and technical support

What We’re Looking For

Hands-on experience with 3-phase electrical systems

Understanding of frequency inverters and motor control systems

Qualifications or experience in electrical/mechanical engineering

Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills

Full UK driving licence

Willingness to travel and stay away overnight (as needed)

Strong communication, professional presentation, and self-motivation

Experience in materials handling, automation, or storage systems (ideal, not essential)

What’s in It for You

Company van + full tool kit + branded workwear

Full product training in the UK and at the manufacturer HQ in Germany

Daily food allowance

Pension scheme, life assurance, income protection

Annual discretionary bonus (profit-based)

Overtime opportunities

No regular weekend work (occasional pre-arranged)

This is a great opportunity to work with high-spec automation in a role that offers variety, autonomy, and long-term career development—plus the chance to become a specialist in a growing field of engineering
