Are you a skilled Science Technician with laboratory experience, looking for a rewarding new role? Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in North Derbyshire, seeking to appoint a dedicated Science Technician from September.

This is a full-time, term-time only position, offering a competitive daily rate of £100, ideal for someone with a strong laboratory background who is passionate about supporting science education.

About the Role:

You'll be joining a supportive Science Department where you'll play a key role in the smooth running of practical lessons across KS3 and KS4. Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing and setting up scientific equipment and materials for practical experiments.

Assisting teaching staff with technical support during science lessons.

Maintaining clean, organised and safe laboratories at all times.

Managing the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and hazardous substances.

Monitoring stock levels and ordering science supplies as needed.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have previous laboratory experience - this is essential (school-based or industrial lab work considered).

Be confident working with lab equipment, chemicals and following safety protocols.

Demonstrate strong organisational and time-management skills.

Be proactive, reliable and work well as part of a team.

Please note: Only applicants with proven laboratory experience will be considered for this role.
