We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-run garage in St Albans for the position of Vehicle Technician. This opportunity is ideal for experienced professionals seeking a reputable and stable work environment within the automotive industry. The Vehicle Technician role offers a chance to work with a diverse range of vehicle makes and models, providing opportunities for technical development and career progression.

Working in an independent, family-run garage environment

Monday to Friday working hours (8.30am – 6pm)

Two Saturdays per month (8.30am – 12.30pm)

Opportunities to work on all vehicle makes, including servicing, repairs, diagnostics, clutches, and engine work

MOT testing ability advantageous, though not essential

Supportive team environment focused on quality and customer satisfactionDuties:

Conduct routine vehicle servicing and repairs to industry standards

Diagnose faults through electronic diagnostics and carry out relevant repairs

Perform clutch replacements and engine work as required

Undertake MOT testing once qualified

Ensure all work complies with manufacturer guidelines and safety standards

Maintain high levels of customer service, providing clear communication and technical advice

Collaborate with team members to meet workshop targets and business goalsRequirements:

Minimum of 5 years' experience in vehicle maintenance and repair

MOT qualification; at least 3 years' testing experience or the ability to qualify

Demonstrable technical skills with a proactive approach

Full set of automotive tools

Experience working in a busy garage environment, ideally meeting main dealer standards
