Part-Time Minibus Driver & Handyman (Ideal for Retired Person) – Glasgow – £12.71 per Hour

Description

We are a friendly, well established children’s nursery in Glasgow seeking a reliable, trustworthy and practical individual to join our team as a Part-Time Minibus Driver & Handyman.

This position would be particularly well suited to a retired or semi retired person looking to stay active, earn additional income and become part of a welcoming nursery community.

Minibus Driver Duties

Safely transport children between our nursery and local schools (3 Mile Radius)
Morning school drop offs (approximately 1 hour each school day).
Afternoon school collections (approximately 1 hour each school day).
Ensure children travel safely and comfortably at all times.
Carry out basic vehicle checks and maintain the cleanliness of the minibus.
Assist with occasional trips and outings during school holiday periods.

Handyman Duties

In addition to driving duties, we are looking for someone who can assist with general maintenance tasks around the nursery for up to 10 hours per week throughout the year, including:

General repairs and maintenance.
Basic DIY projects.
Assembling furniture and equipment.
Painting and decorating touch ups.
Garden and outdoor area upkeep.
Helping to improve and maintain nursery facilities.

About You

Hold a full UK driving licence with D1 entitlement.
Reliable, punctual and friendly.
Enjoy working around children and families.
Possess good DIY and handyman skills.
Able to work independently and use initiative.
Previous minibus driving experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

Hours

Approximately 1 hour each morning during school term time.
Approximately 1 hour each afternoon during school term time.
Additional handyman hours available (up to 10 hours per week) throughout the year.
Occasional additional driving hours may be available for school holiday outings and trips.

Salary

£12.71 per hour.
Additional hours available through handyman duties and school holiday trips.

Important Information

Successful applicants will be required to undergo or hold a satisfactory PVG Scheme Membership due to working with children.
