Vintage Oak Kidney Dressing Table, Triple Mirror, Glass Top, 3 Drawers

Description

Vintage oak dressing table with a kidney shaped top, folding triple mirror and three deep drawers, standing on short cabriole legs with pad feet. Nicely figured golden oak with the original pierced oval backplate handles.

Complete with its original shaped glass top, cut to follow the kidney curve, and the original metal rail around the edge that carried the fabric skirt these were made with. The skirt itself is long gone, but the rail is intact if you want to re-dress it.

The mirror is in three sections with shaped tops and bevelled edges. The side wings fold in, so it can be moved without dismantling.

Because the glass has been on it all its life, the oak top underneath has been protected and is in better order than the rest of the piece. Equally it takes paint well if you would rather make a project of it.

Condition: solid and structurally sound, drawers run properly. Honest wear consistent with age. There is a chip to the wood on the front of the middle drawer, visible in the photos, and some light marking elsewhere. Light foxing to the edges of the mirror plates, which is normal for mirrors of this era. Please see photos.

Collection only, buyer to arrange transport. Two people to lift it. The mirror folds in but the piece is not flat-packable, so please come with a van or a large estate. The glass top lifts off and will need wrapping separately.
