An excellent opportunity for an experienced child-friendly Housekeeper to join British family known to agency at their home in Florence, Italy on a long-term basis.

The family have two children aged 3 and 2 and a 6mth old baby and live in a substantial three-storey, six-bedroom, six-bathroom home approximately 15 minutes from the centre of Florence. The household is fully staffed, including a full-time Nanny, and the successful Housekeeper will work alongside other household staff as part of an established team.

The role is predominantly housekeeping focused and will include the daily cleaning and upkeep of the residence, making and changing beds, laundry and ironing, wardrobe management and linen care, household errands and ensuring the home remains beautifully presented and organised. Experience caring for delicate fabrics, furnishings and surfaces is important.

The Housekeeper should also be comfortable assisting with simple family cooking and meal preparation/service when required. There may occasionally be a need to keep an eye on the children for short periods; however, this is not a Nanny/Housekeeper position, as a full-time Nanny is employed and the mother is also present.

The family travel to France and their other residences for several months of the year, and would like the Housekeeper to accompany them, so flexibility to travel is essential.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years' experience within private households including formal, or an excellent hotel background, supported by strong references and a proven record of longevity in previous positions. They should be adaptable, proactive, child-friendly and discreet, with excellent attention to detail and a genuine pride in maintaining a home to a high standard. It is particularly important that they are a good team player and comfortable working collaboratively with other household staff.

Driving licence essential and a car will be provided for work purposes. The ability to speak English, Italian, French or Spanish would be welcomed.

The position can be live-in or live-out. For a live-in candidate, a private bedroom and bathroom are provided within the family home, with bills included. Working 5 or 5.5 days per week, salary is negotiable depending on experience and whether live-in or live out.

Salary: From EUR 2,800 net per month – to be discussed, depending on experience
