Description

Here at Lacey Lou’s poos, we believe in the highest quality breeding and have provided many families with beautiful cockapoo pups. Our ethos is ensuring a warm, welcoming family environment which helps mould the puppies from birth. They’ll be treated like an extension of our family and given all the love and nurturing they need which involves being in contact with our children and the general noise and busyness of a family home. A large whelping box will be positioned in a room downstairs in an area that is warm, as the puppies grow they will have a larger playing area which will be when they can receive visitors. We love to welcome prospective families to meet our pups, and we can be quite flexible with timing, as we understand working shift patterns can make it challenging.

As well as this, our guarantee is that the puppies will also undertake basic training with commands and will commence lead training in the garden. This will include sitting on demand and getting used to the lead which can be quite tricky process. For this reason we utilise the opportunity at around 5/6 weeks when the pups absorb information at a high level. By 8 weeks our aim is that they’ll have confidence in the garden, be used to having a lead and be used to basic commands like ‘sit’ and ‘paw’. Information and advice will be given when taking your pup home so that the learning can continue based on what commands they’re used to. We also pride ourselves on starting the pups out with learning about toilet training. This is always a big hurdle for pups and it’s our belief that starting early benefits not only the pup, but their future family. We start by using puppy pads inside and once able, we use a reward system for toilet training in the garden. Although they’ll be familiar with some processes, it must be understood that with all puppies, there will be a lot of new learning when they go to their forever home. The change of environment will require learning a different routine. But the act of toileting properly will be familiar.

Some info about our girl, Lacey and soon to be mummy of 6 puppies. She turned 5 years old in June and is a very healthy, happy F1 cockapoo. Her daddy was a miniature poodle and her mummy was a working cocker spaniel, Lacey was one of ten pups. She’s had no health issues throughout her life and has been regularly vaccinated, and treated for both flees and worms. Lacey has a great nature, and much like the female cockapoo, she can be a bit of a princess (as can be seen in pics). We view Lacey as one of our children, she is our world and we adore her. We’ve had the honour of having reared her puppies and watch her being a fantastic mummy. Lacey has a confirmed pregnancy of 6 puppies and is due from 5th November.

The photos provided show Lacey in all her airs and graces, with her winning personality shining through. I have added a few pics of her as a puppy followed by pics of her last litter which was 5 pups, 4 of which were female and 1 male. We have decided to remain with the same sire which allows us the unique ability to know exactly what to expect in terms of the puppy colouring and sizes, although there can be some slight variations. We have also been fortunate enough to maintain good relationships with all of the families that have adopted a pup from us, and have been honoured with being able to watch each of them grow into beautiful dogs. We welcome any future families to do the same, not only for us but for them. We offer ongoing advice and assistance should there be any issues. We also respectively ask that if for any reason, being an owner should become an issue, that the pup is returned to us. We understand the challenges that being an owner can cause, and leave this option open indefinitely.

What can I expect if we adopt a puppy?

* We give a pack to all our puppies when leaving our home. This includes a blanket which will have their mums smell on it, this acts as a comfort to them when they’re separated. We also give some toys that they’ve been used to playing with in our home which will have a familiar scent for them. We provide a bag of the food that pup has been weaned on, it is important this is used or if you plan to change the make, that the food they’re used to is mixed with it for transition. This prevents upset tummies. They’ll also be wearing a training collar which can be used for a few weeks before they go on their first walk.
* All pups will have a visit to our local vet and Will be fitted with microchips. The certificate and information will be given to you, this will be needed for whatever vet you choose. It is needed for registration purposes.
* As mentioned, your pup will be given basic training which will involve commands, lead training and toilet training on mats in the house as well as toilet training in the garden. This will be done on the basis of a reward system using small amounts of treats.
* You will receive ongoing advice for as much or as little as you would like/require. But you will be given a full handover about all of the personality traits of your pup, aspects of training they’ve managed well and what they’ve responded well to.
* We have full genetic background on both Lacey and her sire woody. This is available on request, as well as all health records on Lacey.

Finally, I hope you like our ad and will consider one of Lacey Lou’s poos. Our price is competitive for what we offer, which is much more than buying a pup. This is an investment in a future family member that will come from the best a home can offer. Please feel free to send me a message or give me a call if you have any questions. My name is Louise, and we look forward to hearing from you.

* * We don’t do first vaccination as it’s best that this is carried out with your chosen vet, this prevents complications **
