Description
PLEASE READ EVERY WORD BEFORE CONTACTING ME AND DO NOT CONTACT ME UNLESS YOU UNDERSTAND THE ADVERT. IF YOU WRITE “IS THIS STILL FOR SALE” YOU WILL BE IGNORED AND BLOCKED.
We acquired (rescued) Moshi in November 2023 from a family with two young children. We don’t know how he was treated by the family/children; however, it was evident on arrival that he was nervous/scared and growled on being approached or touched.
We are “dog people” and recognised the fear aggression very early on. We tried several dog trainers though in truth, not one offered a way to fix him as he’s unfixable due bad neurological wiring, sometimes endemic in the breed.
He has on occasions bitten, even my wife to whom he is wholly attached.
My wife is the alpha and can pick him up, cuddle him and has a bond not shared by others. That said, when she’s away he will attach himself to another alpha (be it me or one of my kids) but immediately reverts to type when she returns.
I’m sure a bigger, less cute looking dog would have been put down by now. Something we are simply not prepared to do.
Outside the home his social skills are good, and he can play nicely with most other dogs, but we are always on guard in case he goes for another dog, which he can and has done.
Inside the home he lives with our two cats and a beautifully behaved 11 year Cavapoo - who he can occasionally provoke fights with. We are very good for him – but he’s not good for us, our other pets or the equilibrium of our lives.
He’s fully house trained (as one would expect), sleeps in his crate at night and stays there happily until he’s let out in the morning.
He thrives from one-on-one companionship, as evidenced by the connection he’s made with my wife but even she is at the point now where she knows he’s not good for us and our family.
I am looking for someone living alone and staying at home, in a house with a garden, not a flat, without kids, who will offer him undivided attention, that both loves and understands challenging dogs, and will be sensitive and prepared to work with his challenges. If you think that’s you then please do make contact.
Thank you
