Description
Original Woods Ivory Ware Platter serving set. 10 pieces. All feature an abstract pattern blue & black Deco border on cream coloured body with glazed finish. The set is part of the Woods Ware product line, and is original vintage. The set consists of:
1 large platter with scalloped edge (31.2 cm long; 26 cm wide)
1 smaller platter with scalloped edge (29 cm long x 24 cm wide)
6 large round dinner plates with scalloped edge (25/26 cm diameter)
1 lidded tureen (27 cm long; 13 cm tall; 25 cm wide)
1 gravy/sauce boat (18 cm long- handle to spout); 6 cm tall
The set is overall good vintage condition. There is some sign of wear to glazing & blemishes to glazing underside/manufacturing marks; 1 dinner plate has small chip to underside of rim - not visible on rim. Tureen has 2 small chips under 1 handle; neither are visible on outer rim & lid is in good condition. The glazing finish to the whole set is very glossy & looks great.
Beautifully designed in England in the 1930s of good quality earthenware/ceramic material.
Stamped on back Woods Ivory Ware England & impressed marks.
Stunning Deco display- both decorative and functional.
