SET OF SIX VINTAGE FRENCH OYSTER PLATES, SHELLFISH PLATTERS, SEVEN SHELL, 24.5cm diameter - 1960s MID CENTURY MAJOLICA - REDUCED!

WILL POST - I can post these for £7.99 if paid for by bank transfer (Note - we only accept payment in cash on collection or by bank transfer if delivery agreed - no PayPal, card, or courier payment).

Selling our collections (hoards) of mostly French vintage items that have been acquired over many years until finally we have no room for more!

We got these quality majolica, or barbotine, oyster plates from a vide maison at Reims in the Champagne region and have used them both to serve oysters and as decorative display items on a dresser.
(We actually have the complete set that consists of twelve plates and a larger 33 cm diameter central platter but we have split these into a smaller set of six - please enquire if you are interested in the full set).
Mid century pieces that had been in the owner’s family since the 1960s, they are in very good condition.
Substantial pieces with a deep glossy design of seven shells, six around the circumference plus a centre shell, they are still functional as intended and also make great decorative mid century pieces of French kitchenalia…

In very good vintage used condition with some light wear, crazing, and scratches consistent with age and use but no cracks or damage - please examine photos carefully for condition.
There are very few if any chips, certainly no significant ones (I hesitate to say none in case I’ve missed anything), but there is light wear to the surfaces which I’ve tried to photograph - see photos.
The majolica glaze is still bright, thick, and stable but does have a little crazing - see photos.
I can find no maker’s mark but they are likely to be made by SARREGUEMINES FRANCE.
