Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Dental Nurse to join our professional dental practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, supporting dental procedures, and maintaining a smooth-running clinical environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual to utilise their nursing skills within a friendly and supportive team. The role involves working closely with dentists and other dental professionals to ensure patients receive exceptional treatment and care. Mixed NHS/Private practice. Knowledge in implant and orthodontics desirable, May be required to work on reception or in decontamination when needed ideally for 4 days per week.

Pay is dependant on experience.

Duties

Providing comprehensive patient care before, during, and after dental treatments

Assisting dentists during various procedures, including preparing instruments and materials

Ensuring the sterilisation and organisation of dental instruments and equipment

Managing patient records accurately using IT systems and maintaining confidentiality

Offering clear communication and reassurance to patients to ease anxiety and improve their experience

Supporting infection control protocols in line with health and safety regulations

Organising appointments, managing patient flow, and ensuring the practice runs efficiently

Educating patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions

Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe clinical environment at all times

Experience

Proven experience as a Qualified Dental Nurse

Strong patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English

Knowledge of IT systems used for managing patient records and appointments

Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure

Good communication skills to liaise effectively with patients and team members

Previous experience in nursing

Ability to work as part of a team while demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail
