Description

I am a qualified psychotherapist with a grounding in Transactional Analysis, offering a supportive and safe space for clients to explore their experiences. I work with both adults and young people aged 11 and above, tailoring my approach to meet each individual’s needs.

My practice is solution-focused, meaning I work collaboratively with clients to identify practical ways forward while also addressing the deeper patterns that may be holding them back. I specialise in supporting people living with trauma, PTSD, and phobias, often using the Rewind Technique, a gentle yet effective method for reducing the impact of distressing memories.

I also have a particular interest and expertise in working with neurodiverse clients. As someone who is neurodiverse myself, I bring both professional knowledge and personal understanding to this work, helping clients feel seen, accepted, and supported.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work to the highest professional and ethical standards. I also hold an enhanced DBS check, ensuring that my practice is safe for both adults and young people.

Above all, I aim to build a collaborative, trusting relationship so that clients feel empowered as they move towards greater resilience, self-understanding, and emotional wellbeing.

Eye opening, Philip helped me to look back at traumas I had all but forgotten and bring them all together to discuss and find reason behind behaviours and what led me to my current situation. First session and already I feel a weight is being lifted off my shoulders. Thank you.

I found Philip's hard sell approach completly innappropriate when clients, like myself are probably in a vulnerable postion. He hadn't read my request properly (assuming that EMDR hadn't worked), didn't read the signals that I wasn't interested in what he had to offer when I didn't return his calls and messages. When I messaged to say I had found another avenue he started questioning the validity of this avenue. His key sentence in his initial email wasn't complete either. The last thing I felt was that I was "in control". I can only write honestly of my experience and it wasn't a good one: I wish Philip all the best but this is not the way to go about getting business in this field.

Having experienced a series of traumas and losses over the past decade, I found myself adrift, losing valuable connections with others, and becoming fearful of life's challenges and everyday interactions. However, through his wisdom and experience, Philip has guided me towards rediscovering my authentic self. The shattered remains of my being are now being reconstructed, with the foundations firmly laid. A skilled therapist possesses the ability to identify and address both the underlying causes and surface-level concerns, leading to a transformation of negative and self-destructive thought patterns into positive and constructive ones. Together, we delved into the significant aspects of my life, engaging in extensive rewiring and reasoning. His assessment was excellent, and I truly admire his technique of empowering clients to methodically confront their issues under his guidance. The changes I have undergone in the past two months have been astounding. I consider myself fortunate to have found him, and I am extremely satisfied with my decision to seek his assistance. I would recommend him any day of the week.

First session for my son went very well. He said that it felt like a safe space to talk and clicked with Philip straight away. The session has definitely had a positive impact on my son since. Would highly recommend.
