Description

We are working with an established bespoke joinery and furniture manufacturer looking to appoint an experienced Production / Workshop Manager to oversee the smooth running of its workshop operations.

The role will suit someone with strong technical knowledge of cabinetmaking and bespoke joinery who is comfortable managing skilled tradespeople, production programmes, quality and workshop performance.

ResponsibilitiesManage workflow across all workshop production departmentsPlan production around agreed project and installation programmesAllocate and brief work to cabinet makers and production staffMonitor workshop capacity, labour requirements and production progressIdentify and resolve delays, technical issues and production risksLead production meetings and provide progress updatesReview drawings and production information before manufactureAdvise on manufacturing methods, materials, sequencing and buildabilityOversee quality control throughout the manufacturing processManage rework and investigate recurring quality issuesCoordinate outsourced items including upholstery, metalwork and specialist finishesMonitor materials, stock, machinery and workshop equipmentMaintain a safe, organised and efficient workshop environmentLead, mentor and develop workshop staffTake responsibility for workshop health and safety proceduresRequirementsPrevious Production Manager, Workshop Manager or Manufacturing Manager experienceBackground within bespoke joinery, furniture manufacture or high-quality interiors manufacturingStrong knowledge of cabinetmaking and joinery production methodsAbility to read detailed construction drawings and Bills of MaterialsExperience managing skilled workshop teamsStrong production planning and organisational skillsGood understanding of quality control proceduresAppropriate health and safety knowledge or trainingComfortable using Microsoft Office and production or project management systemsThis is a strong opportunity for an experienced workshop professional looking to take ownership of production within a high-quality bespoke manufacturing environment.
