Trainee Project Manager

A well-established and growing organisation operating within the construction and project delivery sector, with a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and client satisfaction are looking to add a Trainee Project Manager to their growing team. Position: Trainee Project Manager

Location: Wolverhampton

Salary: 30,000 - 40,000 per annum + car/ car allowance + package

Contract Type: Permanent

Start date: Immediately available

The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Project Manager to join our team. This role is ideally suited to a highly motivated individual at the early stages of their career who is looking to gain structured, hands-on experience in project management within a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with experienced project managers and gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, including commercial aspects of project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple projects from inception through to completionSupport the preparation of project programmes, schedules, and cost plansMonitor project progress against timelines, budgets, and quality standardsCoordinate with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth deliveryMaintain accurate project documentation, including reports, risk registers, and change logsAttend site visits and project meetings, taking minutes and tracking actionsSupport procurement processes and contract administration activitiesAssist with the preparation, review, and submission of quotes and tendersDevelop a commercially minded approach, supporting cost control and value engineering where appropriateEnsure adherence to health, safety, and compliance standards at all stages of the project

Candidate Profile:

Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline (desirable but not essential)Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh level of attention to detail and problem-solving abilityCommercially aware, with an interest in understanding project costs, pricing, and tendering processesProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with project management tools is advantageousA proactive, can-do attitude with a genuine interest in developing a career in project management
