Description

Our client, a leading organisation within the highways sector, is seeking a Site Inspector for a contract opportunity in or around York. The role would suit someone with highway and structural inspection experience, including those at an early stage of their career who are available to start immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

Carrying out site inspections of highway, structural and civil engineering worksMonitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications and quality standardsIdentifying defects, safety concerns and potential construction issuesRecording site observations and preparing accurate inspection reportsReviewing workmanship, materials and progress across highways and structural projectsLiaising with contractors, engineers and project teams to support effective deliveryEscalating risks, defects and non-compliance in a timely mannerMaintaining accurate site records, photographs and relevant documentation

Job Requirements:

Experience in site inspection within the highways, civil engineering or structural sectorUnderstanding of highway construction, maintenance and structural worksAbility to identify defects and assess workmanship against project requirementsKnowledge of health and safety procedures applicable to construction sitesStrong attention to detail and accurate report-writing skillsEffective communication skills when working with contractors and project teamsAbility to work independently and respond effectively to site-based issuesImmediate availability and the ability to work in or around York
