Site Engineer

My client, a leading civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join their team on a major water infrastructure project. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high profile scheme involving pipelines, chambers, reinforced concrete structures, and associated water utility works.

Site Engineer Responsibilities

*

Support the day to day delivery of water infrastructure works, ensuring activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project programme.

*

Set out and survey works including pipelines, drainage, chambers, reinforced concrete structures, and associated civil engineering elements.

*

Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, RAMS, permits, and company procedures.

*

Work closely with the Site Agent, Foremen, subcontractors, and operatives to coordinate site activities and maintain progress.

*

Monitor quality on site, carry out inspections, and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality assurance procedures.

*

Maintain accurate site records including setting out data, as-built information, inspection records, site diaries, and progress reports.

*

Assist with planning and sequencing of works, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation measures.

*

Support the management of materials, plant, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery.

*

Promote a strong health, safety, environmental, and quality culture, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry legislation.

*

Liaise with the Project Manager, design team, commercial team, and client representatives to resolve technical queries and support project delivery.

Site Engineer Requirements

*

Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on water, utilities, pipeline, drainage, or major civil engineering infrastructure projects.

*

Good understanding of reinforced concrete, drainage, pipework, chambers, and associated civil engineering construction techniques.

*

Experience with setting out using GPS and total station equipment.

*

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction information.

*

Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a site team.

*

Good understanding of health & safety legislation and industry best practice.

*

Knowledge of NEC contracts and project delivery processes is advantageous.

*

Valid CSCS Card is essential.

*

SMSTS or SSSTS qualification is desirable. xjnqpsq

HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) is preferred.
