Astute's Nuclear team are partnering with a leading utilities and infrastructure services provider, recognised for its technical excellence and commitment to sustainability, to recruit a Senior SHEQ Advisor to work on the Sizewell C project.

The strategically important Senior SHEQ Advisor role comes with a competitive salary, up to 20% combined pension contribution, performance-related bonus and many additional benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Senior SHEQ Advisor role

Reporting to the Head of SHEQ, you will:

Lead and support a team of SHEQ Advisors, providing coaching, mentoring and technical guidance across the health and safety function.

Promote a strong SHEQ culture across the organisation, building credibility and achieving buy-in for positive change.

Work closely with key stakeholders across the wider business to maintain and improve SHEQ performance against client KPIs.

Develop, implement and enhance SHEQ procedures to exceed client expectations, meet legislative requirements and align with company standards.

Provide expert advice and guidance on health, safety and environmental matters within a construction-based environment.

Monitor SHEQ performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Support the organisation in maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.

Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, balancing competing requirements and influencing positive outcomes.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

5+ years' experience in Health and Safety management within a construction, utilities or nuclear environment.

Proven experience managing, coaching or mentoring Health and Safety professionals.

NVQ Level 5 or Level 6 qualification, with a minimum of CertIOSH.

NEBOSH Fire Certificate.

CSCS Managers and Professional test or an industry-recognised equivalent.

Strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental management systems and processes, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

Experience working within a complex construction, infrastructure, utilities or nuclear environment would be highly advantageous.
