Major Water Infrastructure Project

50,000- 75,000 + Package

We're working with a leading civil engineering and utilities contractor who are looking to strengthen their project team with an experienced QHSE Manager / Advisor to support the delivery of a major water infrastructure project at Sizewell.

This is a site-based role supporting the delivery of clean and dirty water works on a high-profile infrastructure project, with responsibility for maintaining high standards across Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental performance.

The role can suit either an experienced QHSE Advisor looking to step up or an established QHSE Manager with experience working on major infrastructure projects.

The Project

You'll be working on a major water infrastructure project at Sizewell, supporting the delivery of clean and dirty water works as part of the wider development.

This is a high-profile project with a strong focus on quality, health & safety and environmental performance, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced QHSE professional looking to work on a major infrastructure scheme.

You'll provide hands-on QHSE support across the project, working closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager and wider site team.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing day-to-day QHSE advice and support to the project and site teamsMonitoring compliance with company, client and legislative requirementsCarrying out regular QHSE inspections, audits and site toursSupporting the preparation, review and implementation of RAMS, ITPs, CPPs and QHSE documentationIdentifying risks and ensuring appropriate control measures are implementedManaging and investigating incidents, near misses and non-conformancesSupporting corrective and preventative actions through to completionMonitoring quality standards and ensuring works are delivered to specificationSupporting quality inspections, test plans and project documentationDelivering toolbox talks, inductions and QHSE briefingsPromoting a positive QHSE culture across the projectWorking with construction teams to identify opportunities for improvementLiaising with the client, supply chain and other project stakeholdersSupporting internal and client-led audits and assurance activitiesMaintaining accurate QHSE records, reports and performance dataSupporting environmental and sustainability requirementsProviding guidance, coaching and mentoring to site personnelChallenging poor standards and driving continuous improvement

About You

We're looking for an experienced QHSE Advisor, QHSE Manager, SHEQ Advisor, SHEQ Manager or Health & Safety professional with a background in civil engineering, construction, utilities or water.

You will ideally have:

NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalentRelevant QHSE/SHEQ experience within civil engineering, construction, utilities or waterExperience working on major infrastructure projectsStrong knowledge of UK Health & Safety and Environmental legislationGood understanding of Quality Management SystemsExperience with RAMS, ITPs, audits, inspections and incident investigationStrong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001Excellent communication and influencing skillsA hands-on approach to site-based QHSE managementThe confidence to challenge and influence project teams

Experience within the water sector would be advantageous, particularly clean water, dirty water, utilities or infrastructure projects.

Previous experience working within a nuclear, power or other highly regulated environment would be a strong advantage.
